First Human Specimen, Icelandic Phallological Museum
In July 2011, Páll Arason, a 95-year-old Icelandic adventurer from Akureyri, donated his penis to the museum, marking its first human specimen. Known for his adventurous life, Arason sought ’eternal fame’ through this donation. Despite preservation challenges resulting in a grayish-brown mass, the event was culturally significant. This quest was documented in the 2012 film The Final Member , which explored the museum’s unique collection and ongoing search.
