Luis in the Courtyard of the Hôtel-Dieu (Beaune)
Luis reads a guide in the courtyard of Beaune’s Hôtel-Dieu (1443), where arcaded galleries and timbered gables enclose the historic hospice. The central well, once vital for hospital use, anchors the cobbled square. Founded by Nicolas Rolin, this place blended care for the poor with ducal prestige, now preserved as a symbol of Burgundy’s heritage.
