Catacombs
These 16th-c. catacombs form a vast underground network that once served as one of Lima’s main colonial cemeteries. The remains of more than 70,000 people lie here, arranged in communal pits and chambers beneath the historic city center. The site reflects early colonial burial customs and offers a vivid glimpse into the religious and social life of Lima during the Spanish period.
