Feathered Serpent and War Serpent
These carved heads (c. 250 AD) from Quetzalcóatl, the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, alternate between the Feathered Serpent, symbol of life, wind, and rebirth, and the War Serpent, linked to military power and sacrifice. Their dual presence affirms Teotihuacán’s fusion of cosmic renewal with state control and sacred warfare.
