Temple of Aesculapius
This lakeside temple (1786–92) honors Aesculapius, the Greco-Roman god of healing. Its classical architecture and Greek dedication (To Aesculapius the Savior ) echo ancient sanctuaries. The statue inside, recovered from the Mausoleum of Augustus, links Rome's historical grandeur to Enlightenment ideals, demonstrating a blend of reverence and cultural continuity.
