Angel from Moricotti's TombAndrea di Nino (attr.)

This marble angel (1360s), originally part of Archbishop Moricotti’s tomb in Pisa Cathedral, shows a youthful figure in a pose of solemn devotion. Though modeled after Nino Pisano’s angels from the Scherlatti tomb, the smoother surfaces and less defined expression suggest a later hand, likely that of Andrea di Nino, preserving the elegiac sentiment in a gentler, more restrained form.
