Marie Antoinette’s Bed
This ceremonial bed (1770s) in the Queen’s Chamber reflects Marie Antoinette’s refined taste and role in state ritual. Embroidered with floral motifs symbolizing fertility and virtue, the bed stood at the center of courtly life, where the queen’s public rising and dressing were daily spectacles of royal order and femininity performed for the nobility.
