66
This glazed brick panel features a mušḫuššu (dragon) from the Ishtar Gate, symbolizing the Babylonian god Marduk. Constructed around 575 BC by King Nebuchadnezzar II, the gate was Babylon’s main entrance, adorned with reliefs of lions, bulls, and dragons. It was part of Nebuchadnezzar’s plan to beautify Babylon and was once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
