Feathered Headdress
This headdress (c.1200–1532 AD), found at Puruchuco near Lima, signified elite rank in Andean society. It combines delicate white heron plumes, vivid pink flamingo feathers, and striking macaw feathers in blue, red, and yellow. The refined featherwork and textile base reveal advanced craftsmanship, while its brilliance marked ceremonial power and the sacred prestige of high status.
