Amber with Insect Inclusions

Two polished amber pieces lie on a neutral surface, their golden interiors showing multiple trapped insects and plant fragments. These inclusions formed 15–20 million years ago when organisms were sealed in tree resin that later fossilized into Miocene amber. Dominican amber, noted for its clarity and biodiversity, provides rare direct evidence of ancient Caribbean tropical forests.
