Muisca Tumbaga Pectoral with Figures and Birds
This tumbaga (gold-copper) pectoral (600–1600 AD) from Guatavita, Cundinamarca, features eight stylized human figures in crouching posture atop birds, arranged in ritual symmetry. Worn by high-ranking Muisca individuals, the imagery reflects shamanic transformation and communion with the spiritual world, emblematic of Muisca cosmology and ceremonial practice.
