Hillside Colonial House in La Candelaria
This low, whitewashed 18th-c. house occupies a steep street in Bogotá’s La Candelaria district. Its clay-tile roof, thick adobe walls, and wooden doors and windows show Spanish colonial design adapted to Andean slopes and seismic conditions. Once built for resilience and modesty, such homes now articulate the continuity of Colombia’s historic urban fabric.
