Cattle Egret in Breeding Plumage
A cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) perches in Yoff, Senegal, showing the buff-orange feathers on its head and chest typical of the breeding season. Originally native to parts of Africa, it has expanded to a near-global range. It is often seen near livestock or wetlands, hunting insects flushed by larger animals.
