San Michele in Foro Church and Bell Tower
Dating from the 11th–14th cc., San Michele in Foro dazzles with its layered Romanesque façade crowned by Archangel Michael. The arcades are rich in sculptural detail, each column uniquely carved. The offset bell tower, built separately, was adapted to the ancient Roman forum below, anchoring the church to Lucca’s layered urban history.
