Einar Jónsson’s sculpture, created in 1939–1940, depicts the Norse god Thor wrestling with the concept of aging. Jónsson, a pioneering Icelandic sculptor educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, frequently incorporated mythological themes into his work. This piece exemplifies his unique blend of myth and symbolism.
