Submerged Village Ruins
Among the ruins revealed when the Barrage de Guerlédan is drained stand the remains of houses once part of valley hamlets. Built of slate and granite, they were abandoned and submerged after the dam’s completion (1923–30). Their reappearance evokes both the resilience of Breton rural life and the irreversible transformation brought by industrial modernity.
