This polychrome sculpture (17th c.) shows the Virgin ascending on gilded clouds, supported by a single angelic head. Outstretched arms, swirling drapery, and a radiant halo emphasize upward movement toward heaven. The combination of gold leaf, vivid color, and theatrical pose reflects the emotional intensity of the Quiteño Baroque style.
