Diquís Agricultural and River Life
This reconstruction shows Diquís villagers working maize fields beside a river (700–1500), with canoes linking clusters of round thatched houses. Agriculture, fishing, and river travel structured subsistence and local exchange in this tropical setting. The circular communal houses reveal social organization based on shared interior spaces adapted to heavy rainfall and seasonal flooding.
