Santa Fe de Antioquia Cathedral

739
Cathedral of Santa Fe de Antioquia anchors the former capital’s main plaza, a stone marker of the town’s 18th c. religious and civic authority. Built in the mid 18th c., its dark masonry façade—picked out with white stucco and twin towers—reworks Spanish-American Baroque into local materials, with a subtle Mudéjar rhythm in its vertical pilasters. Inside, a gilded altarpiece and painted wooden pulpit sit beside later neoclassical touches, tracing how devotion here was shaped by Antioquia’s own artisans as much as by imported forms.
