Kremlin ArmouryArmoury Chamber

1138
Housed inside the Moscow Kremlin, the Kremlin Armoury Museum grew from the tsars’ treasury and workshops, where weapons, icons, and court gifts were made and stored from the 16th c. onward. In its 19th-c. halls it preserves the material language of Russian power: coronation regalia, state carriages, jewelled church objects, and arms whose craftsmanship mattered as much as force. Fabergé eggs and other ceremonial masterpieces bind dynasty, Orthodoxy, and empire into a single, glittering archive.
