Aprakos Gospel

This Greek Gospel Aprakos (1410–20) preserves selected readings for the liturgical year. Its 16ht-c. gilded cover displays raised reliefs and inset gems that catch the light across the surface. The combination of medieval text and post-Byzantine binding illustrates how sacred books were renewed over time while retaining their devotional authority.
