Theater of Ostia Antica
Built under Agrippa and expanded in the 2nd c. AD, this semicircular theater could seat around 4,000 spectators. It hosted performances, assemblies, and festivals, reflecting the cultural life of Rome’s port city. Behind the stage stood the Piazzale delle Corporazioni, linking entertainment with commerce and affirming the theater’s role as both civic and symbolic center.
