Reconstruction of the Thermopolium of Via di Diana

This architectural rendering shows the thermopolium of Via di Diana as it may have appeared in the 3rd c. AD. A vibrant tavern with upper-floor lodgings, it opened onto the street with three entrances. Marble counters, frescoed walls, and shaded arcades offered comfort, while a rear courtyard with benches allowed patrons to dine outdoors in a relaxed setting.
