Mont-St-Michel Abbey Cloister
This Gothic cloister (13th c.) crowns the upper level, with slender arcades framing a central garden. The covered walkways linked key monastic spaces and allowed the community to circulate in shelter above the tides. Its elevated, enclosed plan demonstrates how medieval monasteries combined practical circulation with ordered spaces for quiet prayer.
