Tribune of the MusiciansRosso Fiorentino
This frescoed tribune (1530s) in the Ballroom of Fontainebleau was designed as a gallery for musicians during court festivities. Its imagery weaves mythological themes into allegories of royal magnificence, while gilded carvings frame the painted scene. Together, music, art, and architecture expressed the grandeur of François I’s Renaissance court.
