Old Church of Saint-Étienne

This Gothic church (founded 1067, rebuilt 15th c.) commissioned by William the Conqueror was restored after war damage and later ruined in 1944. Its surviving lantern tower and nave walls preserve the austere beauty of Norman architecture, embodying the endurance of faith and stone through centuries of conflict.
