Saint-Fiacre Chapel
Rising above the woods outside Le Faouët, Saint-Fiacre Chapel was built c. 1450 by prosperous local weavers, a late-medieval statement of faith and civic pride in Brittany. Its flamboyant Breton Gothic stonework—spire, twin turrets, and foliage-carved portal—frames a sanctuary famed for a vast carved rood screen and vivid wall painting. Dedicated to St Fiacre, patron of gardeners, it is still seen locally as a protective threshold between everyday life and the sacred.
