Pyramid of the Sun

Framed by the sky, the Pyramid of the Sun (c. 100 AD) dominates Teotihuacán. Rising over 65 m, its vast bulk evoked a sacred mountain, a cosmic axis linking earth and heavens. Ritual ascents to its summit enacted spiritual communion, while its alignment with celestial events expressed a deep concern with time, order, and divine presence.
