Simón Bolívar

This 20th c. bust honors Simón Bolívar, the liberator of northern South America from Spanish rule. Erected by the Santander Academy of History, it commemorates Bolívar’s lasting legacy in Colombia’s independence and his 1828 stay in this very house during a military campaign.
