Gunport Hatch
This gunport with a hinged hatch belonged to the Swedish warship Vasa (1626–28). It was designed for one of the ship’s 64 bronze cannons, highlighting the Vasa’s naval ambitions and its fatal imbalance. The open port reveals the lower deck where gunners stood moments before the ship capsized, offering insight into the operational challenges faced by this ill-fated vessel.
