Christ Before the High Priests
This fresco (12th c.) from Transfiguration Cathedral shows Christ standing before seated high priests, their figures arranged in a tight architectural setting. It forms part of a Byzantine mural ensemble that brought Constantinopolitan models to a Russian monastic context. Its preservation and clear narrative layout make it a key witness to the formation of early Russian iconography.
