Fishing Tools from Medieval RIga

Wooden netting needles (39) were used to repair or weave fishing nets. Metal hooks and lures (40) reflect methods for catching river fish like pike and salmon. A float-carving knife (41) shows local craftsmanship. Together, these tools (12-13th cc.) illustrate daily fishing life on the Daugava.
