Château de Chenonceau and Marques Tower
Beside the Renaissance château stands the 15th-c. Marques Tower, the sole survivor of the medieval fortress once held by the Marques family. In the 16th c., Thomas Bohier rebuilt Chenonceau into a Renaissance palace, later shaped by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici, blending feudal heritage with courtly elegance.
