Stone Tomb Guardian Statues
Stone statues of civil officials, known as muninseok , traditionally guarded the tombs of significant Korean figures. Depicted in formal attire and holding an official’s tablet, these statues were part of a broader funerary tradition that included statues of military officers in armor, memorial stones, and stone structures like incense burner stands and altars.
