Ibex Petroglyph with Sun Motif
This boulder (800 BC–100 AD) in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, shows carved ibex figures and a radiant sun motif. These petroglyphs likely served as expressions of spiritual reverence for animals and celestial forces. Such imagery was central to the worldview of early steppe pastoralists, reflecting their connection to nature and the cosmos.
