Façade

305
This striking volcanic stone façade (early 1700s) is a rare American example of full Baroque architecture. Twisting Solomonic columns, niches with Jesuit saints, and a profusion of vegetal and symbolic motifs echo the spiritual conquest mission of the Society of Jesus in colonial Quito.
