Veraguas Harpy Eagle Pendant
This gold pendant (1200–1600)from southern Costa Rica and linked to the Veraguas culture of Panama, depicts a stylized harpy eagle. Its wide wings and prominent beak evoke power, vision, and spiritual guardianship. Such pendants were worn by elites to signify their connection to sky realms and ancestral authority.
