Dining Room Furniture
This 18th-c. set of carved wooden chairs and a robust central table reflect the domestic life of colonial elites in the Viceroyalty of New Granada. The use of high-backed chairs with leather panels signifies status and Spanish influence. Such rooms hosted meals, discussions, and religious gatherings within a patriarchal, hierarchical household.
