Allegorical and Heraldic Ceiling Frescoes
This Mannerist ceiling (c. 1590) fuses Greco-Roman mythology, Christian iconography, and natural motifs in a unified decorative program. Figures such as Jupiter, Diana, and Minerva appear alongside exotic animals, monkeys, and birds, while Marian and Christological emblems express spiritual protection. At center, a noble coat of arms asserts elite status within the colonial order.
