Cranial Modification Practices
This diagram illustrates types of pre-Columbian cranial deformation: annular, tabular erect, and tabular oblique. These modifications, often achieved using wooden boards or bindings during infancy, symbolized cultural identity, social status, and beauty ideals. Such practices were common among various Indigenous groups in ancient Colombia and the Andes.
