Queen Nefertari

This sandstone statue (13th-c. BC) from Luxor Temple portrays Queen Nefertari standing beside the enthroned Ramses II. Her smaller scale follows New Kingdom convention, where relative size conveyed status. Depicted with royal headdress and poised stance, she affirms her rank as Great Royal Wife within Egypt’s visual order of divine kingship.
