This French reliquary from the 1390s is crafted from gold, enamel, rock crystal, pearls, sapphires, and rubies. It contains a thorn believed to be from the Crown of Thorns worn by Jesus before the crucifixion. Commissioned by Jean, Duke of Berry, it exemplifies late medieval goldsmithing. First recorded in Vienna in 1544, it was restored in 1860, underscoring its enduring cultural and historical significance.
