Guardian Sculpture, Banteay Srei Temple
Banteay Srei Temple, part of the Angkor complex, is renowned for its intricate pink sandstone carvings. Built in the 10th c., it is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The guardian sculpture on the chapel’s outer wall exemplifies exquisite craftsmanship. Guardian figures, often with fierce expressions, symbolize protection and divine presence, reflecting the spiritual and artistic richness of the Khmer Empire.
