Mona Lisa in Bosch’s Hell (Collage, 1988)
This 1988 collage combines the Mona Lisa with elements of Hieronymus Bosch’s hellish landscapes. By juxtaposing Leonardo da Vinci’s serene figure with Bosch’s vivid depictions of sin and torment, the artist explores a dialogue between Renaissance ideals of beauty and darker, surreal visions of the human condition.
